● It allows the equipment to run according to the manufacturer's specifications.

● It will enable the users to cut down the ongoing service costs.

● It significantly lengthens the life of the unit.

● It prevents the equipment from generating noise while running.

Given the importance, it is essential to know how to optimally install an AC unit to lower the maintenance runs and costs! This blog highlights the steps required to install AC, from selecting the right installment area to finding the best AC outdoor unit fixing bracket.

6 Easy steps to install split AC

Finding the right spot

The first step is to find a solid wall to install the indoor and outdoor units together. A strong wall eliminates the vibrations induced to the wall when AC is running. There is a rule that open space should be around 15 cm above and on the sides of the indoor AC unit. As far as the height is considered, it typically remains 7 feet above the ground.

Mounting plate and outlet hole

After determining the right place, the next step is to fix a mounting plate on the desired area. To do that, place the plate horizontally on the wall, and use spirit level to achieve precision. After that, mark the drilling points using a pencil and drill holes in the place. The next step is to fasten the plate on the wall using screws. At last, a 7 to 8 cm hole is drilled into the wall, serving as pipe and wire outlets to connect with the outdoor split AC unit.

Fixing the indoor AC unit

Place the split AC unit on the mounting plate by removing the front cover. Send copper pipes, drainage pipes, and the wire through the outlet hole. Ensure the copper wire is laid smooth to ensure good cooling, if possible bind them together with electrical tape. At last, put back the front cover to the AC.

Now, moving to the outdoor unit. The first step is again finding the right spot for unit installation. A minimum distance of 30-35cms between and around the outdoor unit ensures optimum performance.

Placing strong brackets on the wall

Again drill holes on the desired wall to mount the wall brackets. Make sure that it is horizontally aligned for proper placement of the unit. Lastly, fix the brackets using fasteners.

Mounting the outdoor unit

Lift the outdoor unit and place it over the bracket. Ensure the screw holes of the bracket are aligned with the AC unit. Now secure the unit by bolting it firmly with the brackets.

Taping the wires

Join the power cable to the outdoor unit as per the provided guidelines. For copper wires, clean them thoroughly using a vacuum pump before connecting them to the corresponding pipe port. After securing it firmly, it is time to open the gas valve.
